Brakes Squealing Before Memorial Day?

That Squeal or Grind Is Telling You Something

If your brakes are squealing, grinding, or pulling to one side, that's the system doing exactly what it's designed to do: get your attention before something goes wrong. With Memorial Day weekend coming up and more cars on the road, it's a bad week to put it off.

What's Actually Going On

Most brake noise starts with worn pads. The little metal wear indicator built into the pad hits the rotor and squeals — that's your warning. Ignore it long enough and you move from a pad job to a rotor job, which costs more and takes longer.

Grinding is usually past the warning stage. At that point the pad material is gone and metal is contacting metal. Rotors can score or crack, and stopping distance increases. That's the situation you want to avoid, especially on a freeway or in stop-and-go traffic heading into a holiday weekend.

Signs Your Brakes Need Attention Now

What Does Brake Service Cost?

We keep pricing straightforward. Brake pads start at $175 per axle. If the rotors are worn, warped, or scored, pads and rotors together start at $349 per axle. We'll tell you exactly what your car needs before we do anything — no surprises.

Q: How long does a brake job take?

A standard pad replacement on one axle typically takes about an hour. If rotors need to come off too, plan for a bit more time. Either way, most brake jobs are same-day.
